Ashley Graczyk is an Independent Councillor for the City of Edinburgh representing the Sighthill-Gorgie ward.

First elected to office in 2017 as a Conservative Party Councillor, Ashley was shocked to see the impact of a number of UK Government policies on disabled and vulnerable people first hand through case work in her constituency. This experience as well as a growing recognition of the importance of self-governance for Scotland led her to resign from the Conservative Party in July 2018. She is pro-independence and pro-European and proudly serves her community as an independent.

The first profoundly deaf Councillor elected to the City of Edinburgh Council, Ashley campaigns on equality and disability rights issues. She formerly worked in the charitable sector and believes in social, economic and civic inclusion for all. She is also passionate about arts and culture and committed to creating communities that work for everyone.

Ashley is also the Founder of Ideate Scotland, member of Women for Independence National Committee and Founder of Common Weal ESW.
